Ceramic Oil lamps

Oil lamps were common until the 19th century, later replaced by oil lamps and finally by electricity. In noble palaces they were made of bronze or copper, in modest houses they were made of terracotta. In the Middle Ages, a handle design developed for convenience. Today they are used as decorations in modern homes.
